    TRUST EQUATION

    Objectives
    • Evaluate trust levels between you & your teammates
    • Create an inclusive team culture
    • Develop plan to improve trust levels
    • Build damaged relationships

    Duration
    20 – 30 minutes

    Overview
    This activity will enable both you and your team to evaluate their relationships and trust levels with their teammates. Action plans can be created to achieve their desired state.

    Applications
    You can use this exercise:
    • When trust levels are low with individuals or within your team
    • Can also be used to evaluate trust between:
    o teams or functions
    o leadership levels
    o internal and external groups

    (C+R+I)/SI

    C: Credibility (level of expertise)
    R: Reliability (can be counted on)
    I: Intimacy/Relationship (awareness/understanding of the other person)
    SI: Self-Interest (is their priority on themselves or the partnership)

    Below, give a rating for each trust element on a 5 point rating (5 – Highest score). For example, I think my colleague is an expert in what she does, sometimes delivers when she says she will, I don’t know her very well and I think she is more concerned about us than herself. (5+3+2)/2= 5.

    This will enable you to see which person on the team you have the most/least trust in, as well as which element of trust is having biggest impact on your trust level. This can be done between individuals, teams and departments as well.
