During ongoing coaching with a team, I’ve helped clients hold themselves accountable to the team agreements they’ve created, by doing a simple “pulse” survey before each coaching session. I use Google Forms to do it. I create a simple form that lists all the agreements, each with a rating scale. During the coaching session, I share the average score for each agreement, purely as a conversation starter about how well the team is honoring its agreements. Highly rated items allow for celebration. Low rated agreements can open a dialogue about what’s going on. And a wide range in scores for an agreement can open a dialogue about how the team might be experiencing this agreement differently, from different perspectives.
