Exercise: Two truths and a lie
Dimension / TPI: Communication
Supplies: Sheets of paper, pens
Set-up:
Chairs in a tight circle
Time: 30 minutes
Context: To encourage communication between colleagues and get to know them better.
Instructions: Each person present must write on a sheet two truths and a lie about himself, without revealing to anyone what he wrote. After everyone has finished writing, an open conversation is held between all members for a total of 10-15 minutes.
During this time everyone must ask questions to others about the 3 sentences they have written.
During this chat everyone has to try to convince others that the lie is a truth, but at the same time he has to guess the truths and lies of other people by asking them questions.
Even if the majority of the team has understood what your lie is and what the truths are, don’t reveal the lie to anyone. Once the 15 minutes of chat are over, gather everyone in a circle and make sure that each one repeats the 3 sentences he has written and you have others vote for which they think is the lie.
This game can also be played competitively, earning points for every lie you can find or for successfully deceiving others.
