1-2-4-All Liberating Structures Online

This method allows team members to reflect individually first before sharing with 1 other person, then that pair meeting another pair to share further. It is about sensemaking.

In person
Prepare – divide the group into numbers of 1,2,3,4
Step 1 – Allow 2 minutes to respond to a prompt individually
Step 2 – put into pairs 1,2 and 3/4 for 2 minutes to share
Step 3 – put 1,2,3,4 together for 5 or 6 minutes to share – select a rapporter
Step 4 – report out and discuss further

Virtually the steps are the same except you start Step 1 in plenary before moving team members into breakout rooms.
